Wanna see my Canon?

... Well I've been in Egypt for just over a week now so I guess I'd better post some tasters of what's to come... these have been worked up on a netbook using GIMP (not my prog of choice) so they're a bit rough'n'ready & far from the finished product.

If these are "rough and ready" I can hardly wait to see the finished ones...

Well I made it home to the land of good beer & cr*p weather... back at work this morning... now I've got to sort through the thousand or so photo's I took! I will most definitely be posting some as this is, by it's nature, a rapidly changing area of the world. It would be interesting to see any photo's that other people have of this area for comparison.

I think so, yes. For a start the desert is always shifting, but I think the local economy is changing at a rapid rate which has knock on effects on the more built up areas. The biggest thing tho' is that nothing here is built or constructed to any sort of standard & it all falls into disrepair very rapidly... a new building one year will be next year's eyesore... new roads crumble or get burried.

That said I walked through a beautiful area of Cairo that was still pretty much in the state that the earthquake left it in 1992 & some areas of Cairo haven't seen much change for hundreds of years (not to mention the Pyramids).

OK Well, I've sorted thru' my 1000 odd photo's & come up with 140-ish keepers Shocked... so far... ok, so I still have about 250 to sort thru' so I may have a few more Roll Eyes. Will upload the 1st few today (in no specific order). Some might need double processing (ie I might go back to the originals again & re-process) once I sort out which ones I really like... I'm kinda rough processing on the 1st pass 'cos there's so many Huh? (20 down, 120 to go! Cheesy) ... it's good to be back using my proper software (Paintshop Pro) Smiley

Yeah... should be able to upload some this week... but net has slowed to a full 46kbs at the workstation here so I might have to do it at home.

I think PS & PSP (& GIMP) do pretty much the same thing as far as photo editing goes but they use different methods (ie menus, toolbars, mouse buttons) which, to me, make most sense in PSP.

Well I'm really looking forward to seeing some photos... photos of a hot place on a freezing cold day will be great Smiley

I'll carry on the PSP/Photo-editing software discussion in a new thread so as not to take this one too far off topic Smiley
