Thanks Hedge...

I would try one in a shop, but when I was looking online it said they were out of stock, so I presumed that meant there were none in the shop Smiley

Having seen what the difference is between the two lenses I decided to go with this lens I managed to get it at a good price, and now I'm just waiting for delivery of the lens Smiley

If I win the lottery then I'll go for this lenses "big brother" but this one looks like it is capable of producing very good quality images... now I need to get the operator much more capable Smiley

I know Sad  I suddenly feel I "need" a new mid-range lens to take the place of my 17-45 kit lens, purely because the quality of the 9-18 one is so much better than the photos that come from my kit lens... then after that, well I know I'll be wanting a longer lens too... I'm tempted to search on eBay for the old Olympus lenses and buy a chipped mount for it... Then of course they are a improving the bodies all the time....

Well this lens got a really good work-out in New York Smiley Theres a huge difference between the photos hubby took with the point and shoot compact and my camera Smiley (Tho I admit we swapped cameras so I could use the one with no viewfinder when we went to the top of the Empire State Building... I dont like heights, so all I needed to do was hold the building and hold the camera over the edge and press the button Cheesy )

Now I have a huge task of "developing" the hundreds of pics we took Smiley
