I've been hanging my nose over a new camera for a couple of months now, (I want some of that new-fangled image stabilisation  Wink ) but with the way things have been at work, I've always told myself "no"... Theres been some fantastic deals with one of the cameras I've been looking at, major price drop AND freebies... and I find myself tempted... very tempted indeed. Trouble is, I think I have missed the boat with the best deal Cry  (damn my cautious nature) I'm still looking to see if theres any around, but I think they've all been snapped up.

If I want image stabilisation I use a tripod, I have a selection, including a little clamp on one that I can clamp to a table top or post.

I have a tripod, but sometimes (OK mostly) I forget to take it out with me, I looked at the Joby ones, but something stops me from buying one of those. Olympus has IS built into some of their bodies so I dont need to buy special lenses to get the IS.  Smiley

I've seen some fantastic hand held shots in difficult situations. Not that I'll be able to get photos as good as I have seen, but if I get IS, that'll be one excuse I wont be able to use.

Now thats where your iso settings and aperture settings come into play, if you can get the exposure to below 1/30th second you shouldnt have any problems if you just brace the camera (if you have a very steady hand you can get 1/16 sec or less but I cant).

I cant get away with a low shutter speed... I'm simply not steady enough. My lenses (apart from the legacy lens) are the kit lenses, and the aperture range is not the best Sad

I will get a new camera, but only when the right deal comes along Cheesy
