I've just ordered my first legacy lens I've been wanting to try some of the older Olympus lenses for a while now, and now I've managed to find one cheap. Looking forward to playing with it, and seeing what I can do with it. Now I just have to wait for the delivery

old Its a Zuiko 50mm 1.8, the old "standard prime" that you used to get with the Oly OM range. Included in the sale was the adapter needed for it, so as soon as its delivered I'll be ready to go

Looking forward to playing with it. I've been looking into getting a legacy lens for quite a while... but this was just too much of a bargain to pass up

Just as a sample of the super-dooper £10 lens (and I'm afraid its not as good as it should be, as my focussing skills arent what they used to be YET) This picture needed very little PP, so I cant wait till I get some time to really practice.

Oooh... that's a narrow DoF... I tested my 50 when I 1st got it... ... I was checking the Autofocus setting on it which looks about spot on... not something you have to worry about of course.

The house was on F1.8 just to test the DoF, but I'll give it a full work-out during the week. (when I have got used to focussing again ) I tell you, I'm glad its not film cameras, now I wont be wasting too much money on prints that are no good

I just ordered up some adaptors for legacy lenses for my canon 20d, I got the adaptors that have the little gizmos that allow you to use the focus mechanism on the canon, so I will be able to use all my old M42 and olympus OM fit lenses with the canon. Grendel

I am not sure of the manufacturer, but I was googling around about using other lenses on canons, and someone had a picture and a link, the link led to a webpage with a picture but the back link to the home page from that one ended up as a 404 not found. So I diid some searching, one linked me back to the UK on ebay, the other to a Hong Kong supplier. http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/photobits42_Pentax-M42-EOS-adapter_W0QQ_fsubZ251574319QQ_sidZ118285769QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em322& http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1X-EMF-AF-Confirm-Olympus-OM-to-canon-lens-adapter_W0QQitemZ370264749479QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLens_Accessories?hash=item56357fb5a7&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262That last one I got on a buy it now basis at £14.79 with free p&p, it looks like you can just buy the chips and fit them to your existing adaptor if you are feeling adventurous. from what I researched, normally the AF confirmation is disabled when you dont have a chipped lens, so with this you are able to get the red flash to confirm focus, though I think it sees it as a standard 50mm lens set at f1.4 for metering purposes, but it will now give you that focus, though you can pay extra to get the chip flashed to different setting and focal lengths. I will give you a report on how it works out when it arrives, I have had the guy from China confirm it has been dispatched this morning already. Grendel

Well one of the adaptors arrived (the 42mm) and it works fine, I used it with the 50mm lens off my old Zenit E and the pictures are quite sharp, the AF markers flash when you get a good focus just as a check, so all is well, I havent taken any scenery pics yet, just technical bits of telescopes for another forum, my 35-80 EF lens also arrived and that works well too (better than the 28-90 EF lens that was dropped and now hunts on autofocus). The Good thing about the legacy lenses I have are a better range of apertures than the canon zooms.

Well I went out and as a test got this picture at f16 with flash, this is just cropped out of the original frame, I used f16 to get the best depth of field. Grendel
