well if it was down to us lot I am sure you would pass with flying colours, you had a whole bag full of great pictures. Trust them to get pernickety about a border.

Thanks Grendel. I've not actually submitted the final version yet, but have sent my draft panel in "just in case" for some reason I dont get some more photos. I'm working on a concorde photo at the moment, that may add a little more variation to the photos to create a better portfolio, but I'll see... its hard going erasing a couple of people who walked through the photo. Then the Times Square photo, I'll see if I can do anything to that photo to make it something "special" without the border... Its times like this I'm glad I work in the type of work I do.

I'll second that, at least my line of work is
binary... it's either correct or it isn't. I'm not sure I could ever work in a line of work which is so open to interpretation! confused

This is why I leave the photography stuff to you lot Smiley

OK, the concorde photo... not finished yet, but do you think it'll add more variation and is it good enough? Theres still a few bits that need to be cloned out and tidied up, but I like the simplistic lines and the colours in this photo.

I like the white of the plane against the blue of the sky and the grey of the tarmac, as well as the sleek lines of the plane.

Blemishes on tarmac can really distract the eye & I often clone them out but this shot looks ok (unless you've already done some)... otherwise it's a good solid shot... not outstanding but as good as it gets I think with this subject in this light... you could try darkening the sky a bit but that may/may not work.

You know, I'm still no closer to submitting the final assessment. I know I'll be submitting and resubmitting right until the final deadline, the cussing myself because I've missed something very important or something Sad

I hate this sort of thing Sad

I know how you feel, I was helping my wife with her OU submission last night, it had to be in by midnight, and she had finished all the work before midnight, and just had to zip the files into a folder and submit it, in the end it went in as a late submission at about 10 past midnight because the OU system kept throwing it back out because a filename was too long, so she had to go back, resave the documents with shorter names, then re-zip them. it then had the nerve to tell her it might not get marked because it was submitted late, so she is now worrying about that.

Sad Thats bad news Grendel. I've heard similar tales to that before. I hope she gets her assignment marked. What is she studying?

(BTW, I've always posted a "rough and ready" to their system a couple of weeks before deadline, then gone on and refined the assignments, that way you know you will get marked on something, and also you find out the pitfalls well in advance - also OU's server is apparently dreadful when its near submission time... everyone rushing to get theirs in on time)

partly her own fault, she only remembered and started the assignment after work last night, so didnt have a rough and ready version to submit, I have to say the last assignment she managed over 60% with no preperation reading or other studying, unfortunately she has a high IQ and gets bored quickly, but then can just throw something together at the last minute, she is studying towards phscology, but I think this section is sociology. shes one of those annoying types that seems to be able to succeed without seeming to try at all, whereas i have to work like stink to get a result anywhere near as good.

Wow.. I'd need weeks to prepare something like that.

I hope it gets through and gets marked Smiley

Last stretch now Smiley

The PDF Slideshow is done, (until I change my mind yet again) and I'm on the written part... got to describe my images and answer a few questions about 3 or 4 of them... I hate written course work. Sad

Hopefully I can get it done and submitted tonight, then forget about it.

Thanks Grendal. It went inlast night, so at least if I dont get the final "FINAL" quality I want, theres something for them to mark. I feel relieved, the pressure is off and I can concentrate in sorting out the minor bits on the photos I want to tidy. When I get home I'll upload the version I sent in (in case anyone is interested), then it'll be nailbiting time until the results are in.

The OU are talking about running a higher level course in photography, and I'll certainly be seriously thinking of enrolling on that Smiley
