Parents have been urged to carry on taking family photos on Nottingham's urban beach - despite warning signs stating cameras are banned.

... the fact that the ban is completely unlawful & unenforcable (it's on & visible from public property) is once again brushed aside.

I'm sorry, but if you dont want your/your kids photos being taken in public, then please dont take them somewhere that people are going to want to photograph.

So, can my 11 year old take photos on the beach??

They're saying there's no problem with that... so they're trying to pick-n-choose who they want... like having an alkyhol ban "but you're ok 'cos you're wearing a suit" (another issue that was in the news recently where councils were abusing a rule).

TBH I have no intention of going there & would be cautious of ever upsetting parents through my photography... lets face it, you'd be a bit concerned if an adult was paying your child too much attention, whether carrying a camera or not, irrelevant of any laws not being broken... this place is no different to a local park play area... the issue is that they've put up signs here which aren't being challenged... how long before this becomes the norm?

I can understand people with kids worrying when men/women without kids are taking photos, but, I dont know, maybe I'm naive (sp?) if a person with children was taking photos of their children, surely that isnt suspicious?
