Quote
Direct Source Marketing, the sole US distributor of Horseman photo products for professionals and high-end consumers, today announced unique multi-coated conversion lenses for DSLR cameras. These conversion lenses, all made in Japan by Komamura Corporation, provide wide-angle and macro solutions without changing lenses. They are attached in front of the taking lens, much like a filter.

Hmm, is this sort of thing worth looking at? I'd always been put off because of the cheapness, but this is advertising that its aimed at " professionals and high-end consumers" so now I'm unsure!

Hmmmm... na... a lot of photog's won't even put a skylight filter on the front of their lens (myself included)... "you pay £xxx(x) for a quality lens then chuck a £5 piece of glass across the front of it!"... all glass that's not part of the original array that makes up the lens will, in general, have a detrimental effect on the quality of the image... chromatic aberrations will creep in as will distortion of the image. thumbsdown
