Well not so much all at sea, we went on a Minicruise from Portsmouth to Bilbao, not a lot to see going across the Bay of Biscay, other than sea, but there was a seagull and a few dolphins too.

Yep... it can be like that sometimes... hope there's a bit more on the return journey.

Well I checked the prices to take a motorbike & 2 people over on that ferry... £464... that's almost £400 to lash a bike to the hull... a lot more than last time so we're goin Dover/Calais for less than £25 each way... the weather will determine which way we turn when we get over the water. Just gonna have to sort out what camera kit I can fit in... probably be the smaller 350D, 10-22 & Tamron 18-200 in a tank-bag.

the route stops in september, when the lease on the ship is up. if you do the minicruise you can get the cabins from £36 per person (mind you with food costing nearly £60 per day for the 3 day round trip its not that cheap) cheapest food on board is the carvery, as if you work it out the carvery is as much as you can eat, and to buy the same actually costs more in the cheaper looking international food court restaurant. we found that we could do a big breakfast then last out until it was time for dinner.

Yeah I saw the offer... hence it's £400 to lash the bike to a spare bit of hull... I've done it twice before & it's that simple & takes up virtually no useable space... most ferries just charge foot passenger rates.

When we used to bike in Europe we were often the only bike on the ferry, and we were charged foot-passenger rates, but the last time we went on a ferry in the car, there were loads of bikes, and the staff were struggling to find suitable places to lash the bikes to... so maybe thats why the prices have gone up so much... supply and demand is a curse sometimes Smiley

when we were waiting for the ferry, the bike racks (pushbike) outside the terminal must have had nearly 50 bikes waiting for the ferry.
