I've been looking into different ways of transferring slides to a digital format and bringing the past memories easier to view.

There seems to be a few ways to do this. The first method is to pay a specialist company to do this for you. This would save you time, but if you have many slides to transfer, it could cost you plenty of money.

The next few methods seem to be more cost effective if you have quite a few slides to transfer.

A second method I found whilst searching the internet was to use scanners/all-in-one scanner/printers which have a built in facility for scanning both negatives and slides.

A third method I have found is a little device called "Veho VFS-004 5MP 35mm Negative & Slide Scanner" It seems to have good and bad reviews on Amazon, but seems reasonably priced.

A fourth method requires a digital SLR, and a bit of kit called "Opteka HD² Digtal Slide Duplicator" which fits onto the lens of the DSLR camera.

If anyone has any other thoughts, ideas or has tried transferring their slides, we'd love to hear your thoughts.

a good camera and a small light box to backlight the slides does it for me.

Thanks, I'm not far off ready to start the slides now. I only have a couple of hundred more photos to do, then I can start the slides
