After spending so much time scanning my old prints I want to make sure they are all stored safely, airtight, watertight and flat. I dont want any damage to occur to the originals, nor do I want them curling at the edges any more than they currently do.

I've been thinking of various ways to store the original photos, including the use of plastic "tupperware" type containers and then an old strong cardboard box to keep the containers together. Has anyone had any experiences (good or bad) with using the plastic boxes?

Or has anyone got any other thoughts and ideas/ways to keep your old photos safe and undamaged?

Many thanks
Tracey

I used "airtight" tupperware thingos for storing stuff like flour. The ants still got into them. So I'm not sure they are the answer.

Thanks Alan
What I was hoping for is to put the photos in something that wouldnt let the photos get damaged, creased etc, then wrap all the boxes within a plastic bag and seal with tape... and then put in the roofspace... but of anyone can think of a better way to store the photos I'll be happy to hear any suggestion Smiley

Funny that...I have always found a fresh pat of cow dung will seal everything airtight. But don't get too close when the issue is unloaded.
